Based on a design from the 1950s for a special military unit, some modifications in favor of improved suitability as a versatile survival machete resulted in the Walther Modified Survival Machete. The heart of the compact Walther MSM is the universal blade, whose powder-coated, impact-resistant 1065 carbon steel is continued in the handle by a full tang. Divided into sections, it masters a variety of demanding tasks at every point. The front-heavy design distributes the weight of the machete towards the tip of the blade, resulting in first-class chopping and cutting properties.
