The submachine gun 40 was produced by Erma and Steyr from 1940 to 1944. The very handy and compact MP40 was produced over 1 million times during this period. Its no less well-known predecessors are the MP36 and the MP38. The self-loading rifle with a 9x19mm caliber bolt action has a die-cast zinc receiver and grip, a barrel made of cold-forged special steel, a milled steel bolt, a locking bolt for the best possible precision, a strong extractor claw and an active ejector as well as a folding rear sight. The delivery includes five interchangeable front sights and is approved for sport shooting.
