The Leica Noctivid 8x42 models are characterized by their powerful, bright image deep into the twilight. This is achieved thanks to a large exit pupil and the best contrasts. Large fields of view and perfect ergonomics ensure the calmest image impressions. In addition, the large field of view offers a barrier-free overview at close distances and a deep insight into the distance. Complex, innovative aperture systems ensure minimal stray light and maximum contrast. A non-slip rubber armoring provides a pleasant feel, and the high-strength, patented special coating additionally protects the metal surfaces of the robust magnesium housing.
The outstanding imaging performance known from the Leica HD-Plus binoculars has been further improved in the Noctivid binoculars. The brilliant image is richer in contrast and sharper. In addition to the prisms made of Schott HT™ glass, the anti-reflective coatings have also been optimized. These are applied to all lenses and prisms using the new high-temperature plasma process, and all these refinements ensure that the light passes through the binoculars almost loss-free across the entire visible spectrum. TheNoctivid binoculars are exceptionally close to the point of absolute color neutrality (achromatic point) in terms of color rendition.
By changing the radii on the lens surfaces, the sharpness up to the edge of the field of view has been significantly improved once again. In combination with the proven minimization of the globe effect in Leica binoculars and ingenious positioning of the apertures, this results in an incomparably vivid viewing experience. With a 19mm AP position and generously designed eyepieces, the Noctivid also offers an exceptionally fast and comfortable view. With a close focusing distance of 1.90 meters and extremely short focusing distances at longer distances, your observation target is never out of sight. Thanks to the sophisticated combination of different technologies and innovative concepts, the Noctivid offers an impressively natural viewing experience, as vivid as with the human eye itself - only larger.
A non-slip rubber armoring gives the bodies an extremely pleasant feel and is also non-slip and shock-absorbing. A high-strength, patented special paint additionally protects the metal surfaces of the robust magnesium housing. The binoculars' center of gravity has been positioned so that it is a direct extension of the wrist. This enables long, relaxed observation. Simply grasping the binocular tubes with just one hand offers you unimagined freedom, whether for an umbrella or a walking stick - another hand is always free.
