Recently, Dawson Knives has also started using CPM MagnaCut as an upgrade in terms of steel. MagnaCut is the new superstar among the stainless CPM steels, as it has a similar toughness and cutting resistance to the non-stainless top steels CPM-CruWear and CPM-4V. In contrast to these, however, it even surpasses CPM 20CV in terms of corrosion resistance and is only just below the exceptional rust resistance of Vanax or LC200N. The carbide structure of MagnaCut is much finer than that of most stainless steels produced by powder metallurgy, which means that an unusually high sharpness can be achieved.
